Inverness Airport Business Park covers an area of 250 hectares, making it the strategic location for business development in The Highlands.
IABP was incorporated in 2005 as a limited company. It is a public private joint venture between the original landowner, (Moray Estates Development Company Limited – Medco), the Airport, (Highlands & Islands Airports Limited – HIAL) the local enterprise agency, (Highlands & Islands Enterprise - HIE) with the support of The Highland Council.
IABP comprises approximately 350,000 m² of development potential within the 250 hectare site. A masterplan allocates sites within the park to different business categories. These include 200,000 m² of Class 4 use, (business), 72,000 m² of Class 5 use, (general industry), 24,000 m² of Class 6 use, (storage or distribution), 24,500 m² of hotel and conferencing, 12,000 m² of associated services and facilities.
Within the secure Airport perimeter fence 29 hectares of the Park are allocated to air and airport related business, such as Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facilities and hangarage. There is a relevant local skilled workforce in this sector as a result of the proximity of both Royal Air Force Kinloss and Royal Air Force Lossiemouth.
